Fiskardo Cruise from Skala

Discover Kefalonia from the sea on a full-day cruise with Captain Vangelis, sailing along the island’s stunning southeast coastline all the way to the beautiful harbor village of Fiscardo. This journey reveals parts of Kefalonia that can only truly be appreciated by boat — hidden beaches, crystal waters, and landscapes untouched by time.

We depart from Skala Beach at 9:00, beginning a relaxed day of coastal cruising, swimming stops, and scenic discoveries. As we sail north, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of secluded coves, dramatic cliffs, and emerald hills that meet the turquoise Ionian Sea. This stretch of coastline feels wild and unspoiled, offering some of the island’s most impressive scenery.

Our first swim stop is usually at Makria Petra Beach, often called the Blue Lagoon, where the waters are unbelievably clear and perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Along the route, you’ll see countless small bays and caves, each more beautiful than the last — nature truly at its finest.

We then pass the beautiful Koutsoupia Beach, also known as Mini Myrtos, a hidden gem frequently visited by luxury yachts seeking quiet and privacy.

Around 10:15, we reach Sami, a lively seaside town known from the film Captain Corelli’s Mandolin. Here, guests enjoy free time until about 11:45 to explore the town, enjoy coffee, shop, or optionally visit the nearby Melissani Lake, one of Kefalonia’s most famous natural attractions.

Continuing north, we sail past Gorgotas Bay, where a dock built for the movie still stands, adding a touch of cinematic history to the landscape.

By early afternoon, we arrive in picturesque Fiscardo, staying approximately from 13:15 to 15:00. Fiscardo is Kefalonia’s most cosmopolitan harbor village and the only one that survived the 1953 earthquake, preserving its traditional architecture. Colorful houses, flower-lined alleys, boutique shops, and waterfront cafés create a charming atmosphere. Enjoy lunch, stroll through the village, or simply relax and watch luxury yachts come and go.

On our return journey, we make another refreshing swim stop at Mini Myrtos Beach, where guests can easily step ashore for swimming or sunbathing before we head back south.

As the day draws to a close and we return to Skala, you’ll likely feel that the journey passed too quickly — a day filled with beauty, relaxation, and memorable moments at sea. A cruise many guests find themselves wanting to repeat again and again.
